OFF SHOULDER DRESS PATTERN

Hello dear..
I made a tutorial on how to fix ankara skirt band here and pattern for a wrap dress here.
So I was asked to teach the pattern for making of shoulder dresses. And considering that it's one of my favorite styles to wear and make, I quickly put up the pattern just for you.

Note: the basic ideas you have for making dresses, are totally applicable here, just a slight difference in cutting out the pattern.

The measurements needed are:
Burst
Under burst
Waist
Hip
Round shoulder
Gown length
Sleeve length
Sleeve tightness

Let's take a look at the pattern:

From the picture above,
a = shoulder width / 4 - 1/4 sleeve tightness + allowance
b = burst / 4 + allowance
c = under burst / 4 + allowance
d = waist / 4 + allowance
e = hip / 4 + allowance
f = e - 1" (or 11/2" depending on your preference)
1 = 5"
2= full gown length - 5" + allowance
This means that 1+2 = gotten length from shoulder to the point where you want your gown to stop.
When cutting out clothes, you start from  point 0 on the tape rule, but for off shoulder dress and tops, you have to start from point 5" this implies that your measurements starts from around your shoulder instead of your neck. (I hope you get this).
Now for cutting out the sleeves, here's a pattern:

a = Sleeve tightness/ 4 + allowance
b = sleeve tightness / 4 + allowance
1 = sleeve length.  + allowance
Do not forget to cut 2 pieces for the body pattern ie front and back piece and also two sleeve patterns.
This is the same pattern I used to cut out this dress.

I hope this was helpful, I'm open to answer any questions.

Till next time XOXO
